Brecken the Hot Dog

Oh what a night! Matt, Jill, Michael and Julia joined us for a Halloween Party hosted by the school that I taught with last year. I have been scheming about our “family costume” for months now and was excited to show it off! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would put Eric’s excitement level at about a 2 but he was a pretty good sport about the whole thing. Notice I said “pretty good” because he refused to wear the hat! For the record, there was one other Hot Dog at the party worn by a much bigger kid than Brecken…. And not to sound biased but Brecken was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much cuter πŸ™‚

The night was a lot of fun for me as I got to not only see a lot of my teacher friends, but also a lot of my students and parents from last year!!! In fact, I was so engrossed in talking with everyone and catching up that when I jumped into our family photo mid-conversation, I failed to notice that I plopped us in front of the awesome “Happy Halloween” backdrop completely off center and forgot to take Brecken out of his stroller for the picture! I’m bummed because I was excited
to get a good family photo and it didn’t happen…. The good news is that I told Eric we could re-create the moment tomorrow night and all put our costumes back on. The bad news is that Eric said “no chance.”

We are headed to Deluth tomorrow morning for a quick weekend get-away so are hoping for decent weather….. The forecast currently predicts snow πŸ™

Happy Trick-or-Treating (tonight if you’re in Iowa and tomorrow if you’re in Minnesota!)…..

Love,
April, Eric & Brecken

Oh, and here are a few other photos from this week that I can’t help but sharing!

(This is Brecken trying out his “big boy car seat…” He is still in his infant car seat for now, but is nearing the end due to his healthy tummy size πŸ™‚

Here are a few videos from tonight right before bedtime! His new favorite game is peek-a-boo!

Brecken also loves to be tickled….

As you can tell, Brecken LOVES to smile and laugh…. A very, very happy baby! We are blessed!

  1. Okay…the videos are the cutest thing EVER!! They made all 3 of use smile and laugh. We loved the Halloween costumes and I think Ryan would be on Eric’s side with the enthusiasm for wearing a family costume, but I think it is the best idea!
