I had more bleeding today, and as much as I didn’t want to call the on-call doctor because I already knew what they would say, I figured I should. Sure enough…. “Head on into the hospital now.”
It was at least a relatively quick trip, and we of course left without a baby and not much answers. The common theme seems to be that “pre-term labor is just one of those tricky things that leaves a lot of unanswered questions, and is frustrating.” They’re telling ME that it’s frustrating??
My blood pressure was the highest it’s ever been (130/94) and they were really concerned about the diastolic pressure (the bottom one). They kept me on the monitors an extra hour or so, and checked my blood pressure every 10 minutes. It did come down a little bit while I was there and they sent me home. Not exactly sure what would make it come down as laying in their bed isn’t all that different than laying in my bed, but I was happy to NOT spend the night in the hospital. It was funny because I asked her what they could do to treat high blood pressure and she said 1.) Bed rest 2.) Hospitalization with fluids 3.) Magnesium Sulfate…… Funny how I’ve had ALL THREE of those things due to other complications and I somehow still have the high blood pressure?
Junior is cutting me no slack in this pregnancy, and I unfortunately had a lot of pent up emotion tonight on our drive home from the hospital. Poor Eric probably thought I was crazy as I brought out all of my characters on our short drive…. I had Negative Nancy, Bitchy Brenda, Sad Sally, and Tearful Teri (as Eric jokingly and lovingly refers to my moods) all crammed into the car with us!! It’s weird, but I haven’t seen much of Eric since we got home… Think he’s hiding and hoping that when he returns, I’ll be back to just plain April??
I’m so sorry April…I can understand the multiple personalities at this point. Hopefully things go well now until you can have him!
I’ll be thinking about you!

just a few more weeks, you can make it:) Your pressure is definately on the border, with the risk being that you would have a seizure if it gets too high. Again if you start to get headaches that wont go away with tylenol, blury vision, heartburn/epigastric pain, more swelling please go back to the hospital!!! Your blood pressure will get better after you deliver but it takes a couple weeks. Hang in there, and take care. Alyse
