NKOTB!!!! Oh, and 30 Week pictures

I WOKE UP AT 6:30 THIS MORNING TO GET INTO POSITION FOR MY BOYS ON THE TODAY SHOW!  HOPEFULLY EVERYONE ELSE WATCHED THEM…. AND FOR MY FAMILY THAT IS VISITING THIS WEEKEND, FEAR NOT, I TAPED IT!!  WE CAN WATCH IT…. A FEW TIMES!  YAY!!!  THE NKOTB ROCKED THE WORLD AND BROUGHT BACK ALL OF MY FUN MEMORIES FROM A YEAR AGO WHEN MY BOYS AND I HUNG OUT WITH 10,000 OF OUR CLOSEST FRIENDS ON THE TODAY SHOW!  I even saw 3 men in the audience (out of the thousands) which made me chuckle thinking about how poor little Eric was standing beside me, in the pouring rain, watching me dance and shout like there was no tomorrow, and undoubtedly hating his life…. Thanks again Eric!  I do appreciate it!
Okay, back to baby:

Me at 30 weeks…
Junior at 30 weeks…

Both pictures are of close-ups of his face.  He can no longer fit his whole body into one frame.
The top picture he is looking towards the camera and the bottom one is of his profile.  Or so we are told…. I’m really not good at seeing what is in the pictures.  I can tell you from the on-screen pictures that we saw, he looks like his cheeks are starting to get chubby and we saw him move his mouth alot.  We also saw and heard a very healthy heart beat so he’s doing great!
From what we can tell thus far, Junior is NOT a fan of cameras.  As Eric and I are big picture people, we are hoping to change this soon!  When we were doing the ultrasound, he would be looking right towards the camera until the wand found his face, and then he’d repeatedly do a full 180 to get out of the zoom!  Funny and frustrating at the same time… Which I’m sure is a great way to describe parenthood, right??

He also seems to be moving more towards being a morning person.  The first 6 months, I rarely felt him move before the afternoon, and late in the evening was his declared workout time.  Now he seems to be doing full blown pilates and cardio starting at 5:30 am.  Everyone that knows me knows that this is NOT okay.  I have not ever been, nor ever desire to be a morning person (with the exception of NKOTB related events that pull me up early!).  It just doesn’t seem necessary to do it on a day to day basis.  Eric and I had signed up for “shifts” long before we ever started talking about having kids…. Eric wants the morning shift and I want the night shift.  If only he could take on a shift now 🙂  Soon enough……
Happy Mother’s day to all you moms…. And to everyone else, happy weekend!
To MonkeyBusiness in regards to The Cougar:  Nick HAD to go, what a creep!  The guys are all a bit shady, but I think I like Colt?  Joe is sweet (and from Boston, which reminds me of Joey Mac!), but what was that song in last night’s episode??  Or lack there of…. JMH:  Have you embarked on the journey of The Cougar yet??  Everyone tune in, next week is going to be INTENSE.  TVLand…. Thursday night!

  1. April, you look beautiful and Adam and I are so happy for you that your baby has stayed put. We cannot imagine how challenging this has been for you. Thank God for the support of your wonderful family and friends. Seeing the picture of Junior’s face reminded me of before my daughter Maggie (8) was born. She dropped in November & wasn’t born until February. I was having weekly internal exams for the remainder of the pregnancy. She dropped butt first so I had to have a C-Section. We had several U/S the last few weeks to check her position and I remember seeing one of her face. After she was born it was startling how much she looked like that U/S, except that the expressionless face was now full of life!

I have looked forward to reading your blog – you (and Eric) have done a wonderful job of keeping us in the loop. You have a way with words that make it feel like we’re right there with you. I wish I could take it from you for just a couple days – what a woman of strength you are to be able to put your own self aside for the benefit of your baby. Don’t ever minimize the value of that!

Happy Mother’s Day to you –

    Laurel (and Adam) Duerwachter

  2. Hi April,
Finally, took some time to read through your recent posts. You do a wonderful job on them. I was thinking that someday this is going to make interesting reading for junior. We missed you at the IRA conference this week. It was excellent for the most part but there will be other years for you to go. I met retired teachers that continue to go because they find it so interesting. I thought, oh so there is life after retirement. Good for them. Well take care and Happy Mother’s Day to you. Katie
