Hello all…. Happy Sunday night! I had a fun weekend, filled with family 🙂 Mom was still here, and the Green Bay crew arrived in Minnesota on Friday (Ryan, Steph, Emma, Ava & Aaron). It was great to see everyone and fun to have little Emma and Ava here to remind me that all this laying will be worth it in a few months. Ava was full of smiles, and Emma was full of energy! Ryan, Emma, Aaron and I watched one of Emma’s favorites – Madagascar 2…. We all piled into the bed and enjoyed it 🙂 When Emma was kissing me goodbye this afternoon, she leaned down to my tummy and put her finger on it and said, “Baby, you stay in there!” I hope he listens to his cousin!
Mom and Steph helped me complete my “nursery art” that I have been planning since November! It turned out pretty good and I thought I would show it off to everyone:
Our nursery furniture is now set up! Eric has assembled the crib, dresser/ changer, and a bookshelf. We are waiting for the mattress to arrive and are hoping to find a rocker/ recliner and then we’ll officially be ready for Junior. Not that that gives him the green light to enter the world… Just makes us feel like there is less to do last minute 🙂
Mom was a HUGE help this week! She cleaned, cooked, brought boxes to my bed for me to sort, and so much more!!!!! Best of all, she did some shopping for me which included buying a frame for my NKOTB poster. YAY. Eric isn’t as happy as I am, but he finally agreed that I could keep it in our bedroom until I was done with bed rest. It’s the bright spot in my day 🙂 Mom’s week of babysitting was even extended due to bad weather conditions in Iowa. As long as things clear up, she will be heading home tomorrow….. Which makes me SO sad 🙁
I also wanted to say a special thank you to Renee….. And congrats on your best time girl 🙂 Love you!
April, Your nursery set up looks beautiful. That must be a relief to have that done. I remember the look of panic my husband had on his face when he realized we only had 6 weeks until baby day and we didn’t have any of that ready! It still makes me laugh when I think about it… Adam said to tell teacher April that he will be ready to go on the potty before preschool starts. Obviously this is weighing heavily on all of us, and he seems to think everyone else cares too…. which is just so cute. He’s up and down. Some days he’s all about wearing his Diego underwear and sitting on the potty and other days he’s like, nope, I like going potty in my diaper. Oh well, one thing that you learn as a parent (and parent to be) is that you are SO not in charge…
We are thinking about you and are so glad that you had your mom and other family here to help you and keep you company. Take care April, we’ll talk to you soon!
Laurel (and Adam) Duerwachter
April,I’m glad Mom got to come and stay a week with you, she wanted to do something for you for all you had done for her while she was sick. I wish I could of been there also with all the family together, thats the best medicine for Mom.
Love you Dad
We had a blast seeing you this weekend and Emma loved her movie in bed with Auntie April! I’m glad I was able to help with your art project – it got the creative juices goin’ and I’ve decided that I will go to Archivers at least one Friday per month for the Scrap Mania’s or whatever they call them these days! It’s good to see that everything looks straight on the art work since Ryan thought it wasn’t! 🙂
I am so proud of you for keeping a positive spirit and outlook on life through all of this – you are correct that you will likely forget about a lot of this once you get to hold that precious little boy in your arms! We can’t wait to welcome him into the family – he’s going to be so spoiled!
Have a good week and I hope we can come see you again soon if that’s a good thing and not too overwhelming for you! I’d love to come and help clean or do something useful too! We love and miss you!
Love,
Steph (Ryan, Emma and Ava too!)
Josh came by to see what I was reading, and when he saw your pic, he sweetly, sadly said “Ohhh, I wish she could be at my school…” and then he returned to the important business of singing about which shirt he was going to wear today in his world 🙂
