The Adventure Continues…

Our day began early and we were on the road by 7am.  Alberto and Jonny (our tour guides) picked us up in a large van and away we went…. We travelled through many small villages as we curved our way around mountains.  We stopped several times along the way to stop and take pictures, see the sites and for a lunch time break.

We saw many animals along the roadway: Pequena, Alpaca, Llama and we even saw a few flamingos!  For lunch, we stopped at what appeared to be the equivalent of an American Rest Stop.  There were a few Peruvians set up with blankets, teddy bears, socks, hats, etc to sell.  All were made from Alpaca and were so soft.  We had an amazing lunch at 14,000 feet!  Ceviche chicken and vegetables along with bread.  We sat on small pegs at a table that was approximately 2 feet off the ground.  In Peru, there are many ¨Perro Calleta¨ (Street dogs).  At this particular lunch, we were joined by two.  One large dog and one very small dog, with all of the pizzaz and cuteness of our little PJ back home!!  It made us miss our little girl and we took plenty of pictures of our friend….

Oh, our driver just arrived for our next adventure so we must go!  Love to all!

  1. I’m impressed that April was up and ready to go by 7:00, ha! Hope you got pictures of some of those animals because I’ve never heard of a pequena or an alpaca. If it makes you feel better, we’ll eat lunch today with PJ and Tucker, but it won’t be a picnic outside because there’s too much ice out there. Enjoy your adventures today!
